We love being out and about and especially when we can spendf time in green spaces. We are lucky that we have lots of accessible country parks and walking routes in and around Nottingham, and a group recently took a nature trail through Bramcote Woods. We navigated some unsteady terrain underfoot, climbed over some fallen trees, had our path blocked by over/under growth, shuffled alongside the holly and stumbled across a den. After some well-earned lunch we continued to follow the winding paths in Stapleford Woods and worked hard to climb the steep hill to where we finally reached the impressive Hemlock Stone.
The Hemlock Stone is made of red sandstone and is around 200 million years old. It was also rumoured to be a meeting place for druids..!
